GCA Awards Grants
Two grants have been requested and approved so far in GCA’s 2012 fiscal year.
The Missouri Military Academy applied for and received funding to purchase additional M1’s for the school. In addition to participation in the WWII reenactment group the “Railsplitters”, cadets are now performing honor guard details at local funerals for veterans. See the Fall 2010 issue of the GCA Journal for more information about the Academy and its programs, or visit www.missourimilitaryacademy.org and www.railsplitterslivinghistory.org.
The M1 for Vets program also applied for and received funding for 2012. Their grant will be used toward travel expenses to bring 22 participating vets to Camp Perry, Ohio, for the National Matches. This is the third consecutive year GCA has granted funds to this organization for combat-wounded vets. To date, GCA has proudly provided grants totaling $17,000 to M1 for Vets.
